Bill Maher says he never left the Democratic Party because he was never there to start.
“I’ve never been a Democrat to start,” Maher said during his “Club Random” podcast released Saturday with his guest, actor Esai Morales. “I always like the group with Democrats and I generally vote for them,” the comedian added.
But Maher said he is anticipating the day when the Democratic Party will be as crazy as the Republican Party.
“I think, I always vote for them. But I always look at it and as not, I will actually make my mind really, they are just always less scary and crazy than Republicans, but I wait the day when I go out,” Maher said.
He added that “we are approaching this because they have become more crazy, and that is much of what you are referring to. But I never said I left the party” because I wasn’t there to start. “
Earlier in the discussion, the morals, who in the new film “Mission: Impossible”, had said that he had heard Maher say that the Democratic Party had “left” it.
Maher corrected him, saying he “didn’t say this”, and the morals was “slamming what people have said in the past to leave parties – I know me better than you – you are putting a title in something that somewhat expresses my view.”
Maher has become increasingly critical of the Democratic Party.
On Friday, he said the Democrats should “do something” about “appearance”, and was called by Whoopi Goldberg when she said that life for black Americans is the same as women with Iranian difficulty facing their country’s regime.
Maher also recently agreed with Senator John Fetterman, D-PA., Who said the Democrats’ protection for Los Angeles anti-Ice protests would be “good for Trump”.
“When they see him in an advertisement in the campaign, when they see the boy with the Mexican flag and Waymo burning behind him, it will be good for Trump,” Maher said.
During the podcast on Saturday, Morales said he agreed with Maher’s love for the term “Supremacist”.
“This is brilliant. Someone is a smart supremacist pretending to be all, what is the word, tolerant, and they are sometimes the most intolerant … and they want to cancel the declining people, like this is quiet,” Morales said.
Morales said he “has always identified with the Democratic Party and I still identify them as a liberal heart”, adding that “his definition of liberal is someone who wants to change the status quo for good”.
