Internet attacks reshape employment advantages for technology managers

American technology leaders say internet security threats are the biggest challenge businesses will face in the next 10 years, according to new research – and this is affecting their employment access.

A recent study examined the business forecasts of 1,000 C-SUITE leaders in online security roles or data centers and found that nearly two-thirds (64%) view data violations and Ransomware attacks as the most important threat to companies over the next decade.

In fact, more than half (56%) of companies have already protected against a hacim effort, 43% have experienced a data violation and 14% have fallen victim to a successful hack.

Given the high profile hacks, security violations and the ever-increasing need for vigilance on the Internet, it is not surprising that 53% of executives see online security skills as most sought after for their future talent pipes-since 43% “often seek to hire entry talent.

Performed by Talker Research on behalf of Scholas, the results found that the adaptability and problem solving (52%) as well as digital and technical skills (38%) also listed in the top three most required skills. Moreover, a 42% obvious emphasis on the understanding and development of it.

While the landscape of it continues to evolve rapidly, 48% of other business leaders said that integration of it and other developing technologies is a major challenge, while 35% showed the growing rules and regulations around it, rounding the three biggest challenges.

However, adapting to these challenges is also the mind for these leaders, as almost everyone (95%) says that increasing consciousness and using it has an impact on how they store data. A further 87% even believe that he played an integral role and changed that challenges their business will face.

The survey also looked at the perspective of technology -working employees and found that out of 1,000 respondents, only 48% believe their company is “highly prepared” to prevent online security attacks.

Moreover, only about half of the employees surveyed (51%) are “very aware” of their company’s internet security efforts. The good news? If they are given the opportunity, 88% said they would participate in additional training – with the average respondent ready to invest just less than two hours per week, or 7.1 hours per month.

However, 81%actively take steps to help protect sensitive data, such as maintaining software and updated systems (73%), using two or multi-factor certification (65%) and regularly support their data (56%).

But that does not mean that they are without concerns when dealing with this sensitive data.

Phishing efforts (52%), external threats such as external parties gaining access (42%) and lack of encryption or security measures in general (41%) remain at the top of the mind.

Adding those concerns, only 45% of employees are “very aware” where the sensitive data are stored within their company.

While he takes on a more central role in everyday life, 66% of all respondents see it as the main income of growth in the database industry.

Despite this forecast, just over half (57%) of C-SUITE executives and only 37% of employees feel “very safe” that the industry will be able to continue demanding demand for databases over the next five years.

Both decision makers and workers agree that internet security technical skills (82%) are essential for database professionals, while essential professional development skills such as problem solving (79%) and communication (61%) are also in high demand.

As organizations escalate to meet this growing demand, they face challenges such as “recruiting and maintaining talent”, “changes in regulatory compliance” and “current raised talent”.
