Anchor of CNN Jake Tapper on Tuesday accused Shari Redstone, the CBS News Paramount’s parent company’s controlling shareholder, for sacrificing the integrity of the exit by probably a lawsuit that President Donald Trump brought against the network.
Tapper suggested that such a solution can occur so that Redstone protects a possible very lucrative union with another media giant.
“Now, Shari Redstone is the owner of most of the paramount, and she stands to make an asset if this multibillion dollar agreement, if this union passes,” said CNN host, referring to a possible union between Global Paramount and Skydance Media.
Trump is looking for $ 20 billion in a lawsuit against CBS, claiming interference with an election to handle a “60 minutes” interview last year with the then President of Zra Kamala Harris.
The president accused the network of assisting his 2024 democratic opponent through deceitful editing just weeks before the presidential election.
CBS’s parent company, Paramount Global, agreed on mediation, signaling their quarrel in the courtroom will result in a solution.
