Washington – â Con cnn Punditâ Scott Jennings is running to retire Kentucky Gop Mitch McConnellâ’s senator – but is waiting to see if President Trump will give him the green light.
“If the president wants me, I will run,” the veteran political strategy was poured into a party after the Saturday White House correspondent dinner, “according to the Daily Beast.
“If he wants someone else, I will support that candidate,” added Jennings, a simultaneous McConnell adviser who will retire next year after being the longest leader of the Senate with a party in the history of the upper room.
A well -connected GOP operative told the post that Jennings’ interest in candidacy for the Senate was “certainly not fake”.
Jennings, 47, who did not respond immediately to the post for comment request, has appeared as a well -known commentator for his frequent appearances on the “Night of the Abby Phillip” CNN over the past year.
His clashes with liberal experts in performances and the protection of the Trump administration policy games have gained praise from Republicans and Democrats alike.
Last month, Jennings received a huge increase in salaries and a new CNN contract, although the network refused to let its show title.
“He protects me all the time in CNN, and he protects me really well, but he can’t go far because he will be fired,” Trump told Jennings in a campaign style rally in Warren, Mich., Tuesday evening to mark the 100th president’s 100th day.
In a support show, Trump invited Jennings on stage – joking that it would be the “end” of his TV appearances on CNN.

The Republican National Senatorial Committee refused to comment on Jennings starting an offer for Kentucky’s country.
Former Kentucky Daniel Cameron’s former prosecutor announced his candidacy within minutes of McConnell announcing his retirement in February-and Rep. Andy Bar (r-ky.) Joined Fray last week.
Lexington-based businessman Nate Morris, another potential candidate, has torn Cameron and burden on social media posts as “dolls” for the former leader of the majority of the Senate.
“I will not allow Mitch McConnell to dictate whether I run or not,” Morris said in February X. “Mitch McConnell, unfortunately, has sold Kentucky’s conservatives for years. He has turned his back to us – and he turned Trump.”
Trump has not yet made any official approval.
